School Information

GEOS Christchurch language Centre offers New Zealand Qualification Authority-approved English language programmes (NZQA) to suit students from all over the world. We have a truly international atmosphere and some of the best teachers in New Zealand, including Cambridge and IELTS examiners. CLC is also a member of the Federation of Independent English Language Schools of New Zealand (FIELSNZ).
CLC is in City Mall, the central pedestrian street in Christchurch. Just a few steps from bus stops, great shopping, international restaurants, cafes, and the beautiful River Avon.
We offer a range of courses and programmes to suit all language needs and levels. From General English and Business English to Examination preparation programmes (IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, FCE, CAE), Young Learners, Activity Courses and Study Tours there is something to cater for every taste.
Our approach is very communicative and learners are encouraged to use and practice the language as much as possible. The teaching methods are skills-based (reading, writing, speaking and listening), with vocabulary, grammar and structures introduced around interesting and relevant themes.
The college is well equipped with a Self-Access Centre for private study, free Internet facilities and large student common rooms with free tea and coffee with a relaxed atmosphere. There are weekly sports and sightseeing activities, free dance classes every Friday, and fantastic weekend trips to places of interest such as Akaroa, Nelson, and the West Coast.
